After taking place in Nairobi, Frankfurt, and Gießen, the 'Global Ideas Laboratory,' an event series by UnifiedForHealth in cooperation with Robert Koch Institute, the Institute for Research in International Assistance of the Akkon University and Helios Emil von Behring took place on January 28th - February 3rd 2024.
The 3-day workshop included topics on emergency medicine, antibiotic resistance, health system resilience, and universal health care, and was part of a week-long training for medical students from Ternopil University (Ukraine). It was conducted within the framework of the BMG-funded project 'Promotion of Health Care in Ukraine under Wartime Conditions - Training, medical continuing education, and professional exchange through podcasts and on-site.' („Förderung der Gesundheitsversorgung in der Ukraine unter Kriegsbedingungen. Trainings, medizinische Fortbildungen und fachlicher Austausch über Podcasts sowie vor Ort“).
In various lectures with interactive elements and hands-on-workshops, attendees gained skills on clinical effectiveness, public health advocacy and innovative thinking through skill sharing.
Ultimately, the Global Ideas Laboratory aimed to impart knowledge from various disciplines and to connect people from different backgrounds with each other and with the topic of global health.
